leon21
Yes 1 and 3 I got from you Kenny, The mothers cross set looks well now iv'e framed it, and added a few extra bits. Not sure on the fire service medal ribbon, Ive seen them with a blue outer edge and also pink. Could the outer edge colour be a regional thing.?

david f
I love the Mothers Cross set.It is by far my favourite Medal from the Third Reich.Did the picture come with the set, or was it added after? It would look really good ,IMHO ,if you could get a miniature version to go with it.
leon21
Yes David the set came with picture which was a bonus. I have at last managed to get a miniture bronze to go with it. leon21
Got the Gold, Silver, and miniture bronze mothers crosses from a friend and fellow collector who sadly died last week. they were a gift to remember him by. Am I right in thinking that only the Gold mothers cross was issued in a case, and the Silver and Bronze classes were issued in paper packets.?
Kenny Andrew
Hi Leon, yes only the gold came in a case ,the other two would be issued in packets

leon21
Here's a few items I've not posted before.. Opinion's on this little carved statue which was in a small display case of H.J items.. hard to date wooden items like this, crudely hand carved, but looks well with other H.J items.
RAF635SQ
Not seen an HJ item like that, hard to tell if real I guess, probably a one off commissioned piece? No idea
Greg
The eagle looks like folk art to me, possibly is original though. Germany has a long tradition of wood carving folk art items. The Ore Mountain area (Erzgebirge) of Saxony is most famous for it. As an item to keep a local carving business alive during the war and just before I could see such items being made. It would be good to better read the carving on the back and check for a ink stamp on the under side. Either would be typical and expected of the better carving areas to mark their items.
leon21
thanks guys, the carving on the back Greg, is the word ( Zermatt ) can't check under as it is glued down to stop it moving about. the other items with it all relate to a young H.J. BDM girl from Wurttemburg Schwaben which I think is a mountain region most date from 1936 to 1939. here's a photo and Certificate.
