    A thank you

Finally got to the Treasure Bunker when I came up from London. Been over 10 years since I was last in. Have to say a huge thanks to Kenny, a true gentleman and I managed to get a signed copy of The War Diaries of a Panzer Soldier. I'll definately won't be leaving it as long the next time I revisit. Thanks Kenny, Merry Christmas and a a Happy New Year to you and your staff.

    Happy Birthday ajax!

  8. Read Moon's book a couple of years ago, a quality read. Have started reading this Budapest book, although not a big book per se, it does wet your appetite to find out more about this battle. The 8th SS Cavalry Division "Florian Geyer" fought magnificently. Once I'm finished this book I'll be searching for other accounts on this battle.
  9. Just received the book - Budapest: The Stalingrad of the Waffen SS by Richard Landwehr. Anybody read this, got opinions.
  10. That is fantastic. I'd love to visit that
  11. Kenny, you didn't know me by name but I did get a couple of excellent books from you along with the majority of the medal / badge collection I mentioned in my opening post. I bought a few books from you in the past, most notably one was about the Liebstandarte, it was (if memory serves) a light coloured cover with LAH intertwinned writing as the cover. I believe it was a Bender publication, again, I have looked high and low for this book (yes.........it is MIA) with no luck yet! If anyone has any idea where I can get this book, please let me know. It was Volume One in a Two volume set (I think ) One of the books I have is Jost W. Schneider's "Verleihung Genehmigt!" (Their Honor was Loyalty). I have a 1st Edition which is numbered 137 of 500 and is signed by the author). I am keen to expand my knowledge especially in the history of the Waffen SS on the Eastern Front and other theatres and always on the look out for Bender, Schiffer and Fedorowicz publications on the Waffen SS. I'm coming up to Scotland next week so will make the effort to get upto the Treasure Bunker to say hello, you may ...........or may not recognise me from before, but that doesn't matter. It will be good to have a browse. Kenny, Greg, I appreciate you taking the time to reply to my opening post. Thanks
  12. I've already introduced myself in another thread on this excellent forum, however, a hello goes out to all who never read my initial introduction and are now reading this. Before I moved to London I had a small collection of German WW2 Medals and badges (Iron Cross 1st and 2nd Class, Eastern Front Medal, Wounds Badges in Silver and Black) a very small collection but one I was keen to build on. However, on moving from Paisley, Scotland to London I misplaced / lost my collection. I was naturally gutted and lost interest for a while, however, I am beginning to catch the bug again. I have a few books on the Liebstandarte, all Fedorowicz publications and I'm keen to build on this with Bender or Schiffer publications. I digress,............basically just looking for advice on how to start a collection again. Should I buy a book to identify fakes / replicas from authentic articles? Although the Treasure Bunker is the place to go for "what we are all looking for", would anyone know of any "similar" shops in London? I apologise if I sound like a complete......... newbie,......... freshman,.......... rookie,............ idiot!!!!!! Thanks in advance
  13. Thanks for that Kenny, that is the very fellow!!! If you happen to get one of these, a wee shout my way would be very much appreciated. Keep up the good work by the way, as an ex-Infantryman my enthusiasm for Militaria is re-kindled with this forum and what the Treasure Bunker has to offer. May try and start a new collection sometime.
  14. Hello, I'm new to the forum and looking for a bit of help, years ago, I received a model kit of a German Soldier, I believe it could be made up as a Panzer Grenadier of the Gross Deutschland or as an SS Panzer Grenadier, I think Tamiya produced this kit. I've been trying to get this kit again for years but no luck yet. Any help would be appreciated. as a post script: When I lived in Scotland I visited the Treasure Bunker a few times, got a few good items from there, sadly since I moved to London I've lost or misplaced what small collection I had. This forum is fantastic. Keep up the good work.
  15. I've just watched this Documentary and thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks to this forum I would have been oblivious it was available. So thanks to the original poster for bringing this to our attention.
