  1. Great helmet and wonderful repaint. I got a repainted m40 with Normandy type camouflage that have three colours on it. The previous owner repainted it and applied some aluminum oxide powder too to make it more original but I still think it's not good enough, and the helmet itself lacks manufacturing mark, seems scratched off, but I don't doubt its authenticity. I will find a way to upload the picture because the VPN I'm using is problematic..

  3. Revolution and mutiny on 5. November 1918 in Kiel. The revolution had broken out and together with the mutiny in Kiel and other ports was to cause the final collapse of Germany and the end of the Monarchy in the final days of the Great War. These two officers* were murdered by mutineers while defending the flag in Kiel: *Korvettenkapitän Bruno Heinemann *Leutnant z. See Wolfgang Zenker + 8.11.1918 (S.M.S. König) Karl Artelt became one of the leaders of the Kiel mutiny. Here armed with Lebel rifles. The cockades have been removed from the caps, or overpainted in red. Mutiny and revolution in Kiel and Wilhelmshaven, November 1918 The gravestone of Bruno Heinemann is apparently in a private collection, it should have remained at the St. Jürgen-Friedhof in Stralsund, and remain preserved as a war grave.

  4. Greetings! I am honour to me a qualified member of this forum. Here's a brief self-introduction so that we can know each other and make friends. Gerd Wiesler is a name from a movie, not my real name. I am from Beijing, China, and I mainly concentrated on RN, KM, BM and VM. There's not a lot of people playing this in China, actually. I am a law student so maybe I could luckily meet some European law students too. Recently I am working on Volksmarine uniform and I will manage to upload some pictures of them. Thanks for reading!

  5. I understand Fritz, but the paint was virtually gone, and was concerned about the rust. I was more interested in preservation of the helmet itself.

  6. Should never repaint helmets. Value of an original SS helmet today around 3000 - 4000 Euros! I doubt if you will ever find an original.

  9. Are the award certificates easy to find? Just curious as WW1 US medal certificates are extremely hard to come by.
