sommewalker
I have a question for all you modellers out there ,"Synthetic rubber cement"as Tamiya call it? I'm currently building my WW1 MK IV (MALE) Tank and require some of this,it's to bond plastic to metal ? but you must be able to remove the bonded part if required ie to remove the , drive sprocket covers to undo the screws in the center of the sprockets. As I live in the U.K the E.U in their infinite wisdom!,have banned the import of certain Tamiya products due to their chemical make up?until Tamiya change the products compounds!can anyone suggest a substitute?ive heard some stuff called "threadlock" is ok ?this is the first "Tamiya" tank ive tried, and although its a bit fiddley (tiny screws) a bit of blue tack on the screwdriver tip helps ,I must say the parts are crisp and sharp, and fit excellently ,and there is no flashing , on the parts or sprues either,,well worth the money I bit the bullet on Tuesday and bought this magnifying lamp in image 5, as the tiny parts can be very fiddly, the last image is of the 54 road wheels you have to assemble ,30 are made up of 2 pieces , the other 24 are made up from 4 pieces!!, you see them before final trimming and fitting, the 2nd to last image is of the tank with blue tape during the drying process , other wise big gaps appear , and the motor works very well
Kenny Andrew
sorry Peter, I have no idea about the glue , it's a long time since I made a model kit,, I do remember when I did make them I always bought Tamiya, in fact I think I remember that same kit on the shelves must be about 35 years ago when I used to buy them in the Argyle model dockyard under the bridge on Argyle street, anybody remember that shop? it was probably one of the reasons I got into collecting when I was still at school.
