Greg
Not too sure but PUMA was/is a pretty major knife manufacturer. The image you have is of a dress/parade bayonet, though in very poor condition
RAF635SQ
Hi. Does anybody know if this Manufacturer made any other knife other than fighting knives with this makers logo. ( ie sporting or HJ knives) I do know that Puma did make HJ knifes, I used to own a genuine Puma made HJ knife.
leon21
Thanks Greg/ Raf......... This Knife was given to me for nothing, but is one very mixed up knife I don't know what it should be. It looks like a HJ Knife but i think it is more like a hunting knife,I'll post the rest of the photos for you to look at . Its one very crazy looking knife or its a very strange fake.......( Let me know what you think guys).............THe scabbard is magnetic but has been repainted ,on one side we have a grip plate of black bakelite with a HJ Diamond of 25mmx15mm but has not loosend. On the other side we have a grip plate made of black leather with a V inlade in to the leather,on the edge of the hilt we have a serial number. As I said this is one strange knife. The knife has been well used in the past.
RAF635SQ
Its a Hitler Youth Knife, If the diamond doesn't move it could be glued in place and thats a bad sign as these were held in with small prongs. As for the V shape, it kind of looks like a postwar scout symbol. Also notice it has a small raised bit of leather at the start of the blade, that indicates its a postwar as wartime ones never had this. So i think its a postwar replica i am afraid Just for a bit of a reference Here are my HJ knifes, the one on the right is a postwar that has a replica diamond and the one on the left is my genuine wartime made one

Kenny Andrew
the leather washer on the HJ knife is a good sign , so maybe both your knifes are OK RAF although the diamond does look odd , maybe just a replacement.

ANDREW CLIFFE
Hi guys. Didnt Goebbels try and start a 'V for victory' campaign to counter the Orange V for victory in Holland?-(just something i saw on World At War)

Kenny Andrew
Hi Andy, yes the Germans did use the V for victory too, I had a quick look on the web last night but it was late and could not find much other than some stamps and a poster. Will have another look again but it's too late tonight
NShado
Hi again Leon, Just thought you would like to know. The fact that your knife says "Made in Germany" on the obverse ricasso tells you that this knife was made Post War for the export trade. What you have is a repro made for sale to English speaking Countries, NEVER put on blades during the War. NShado
Kenny Andrew
Hi NShado, Welcome to the forum well spotted "Made in Germany" is an export mark , don't know how I managed to miss that in the 2nd photo are you sure it's post war ? The Germans have been using "Made in Germany" since 1887? I think it's highly unlikely it would be Hitler Youth but maybe something like the Scouts? I have seen similar Scout knifes with the same shape of diamond. So perhaps it's something like pre-war scouts and somebody has added the HJ badge? It is a very crazy looking knife as Leon says, what ever it is
leon21
Welcome NSHADO, Yes your correct about the Made in Germany stamp they were not on H.J blades, that's why I thought it more likely a sporting or hunting type knife. Don't have the knife anymore swapped it a few years ago.
