WW1 HEBEL FLARE PISTOL

Recommended Posts

An interesting find

A ww1 model 1894 HEBEL flare pistol (DEACTIVATED )

this is a rather nice clean example of one,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hebel_Model_1894

from what I have managed to find out there were about 25,

different manufacturers and

this one was made by B&E

B+E is code for Bohling & Eschrich, a manufacturer located in Zella-Mehlis

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zella-Mehlis In Germany

I have included photos of the various makers marks,

and a close up or a soldier with one tucked in his belt,

this one still has its original lanyard link, .....................
