NELSON
I have two panzer dog tags in my collection but I'm not sure if they are real or fake. I would be grateful for any feedback. Thanks
Kenny Andrew
Hi Nelson, I tend to avoid dog tags as they are so easy to fake but both of yours look like they might be OK. The first one is an early aluminium one with soldiers id number 98 for the 1st Company, Panzer Regiment 4, I have never came across the term BLGO before but it could perhaps be for Blutgruppe O. The second is a late war zinc dog tag, soldiers id 321 for the 3rd Company, Panzer replacement battalion 38 with the soldiers blood group A.

Ross
I am a keen collector of dog tags. One thing I like to see on them is wear on either side of the 2 holes that the owners chord went through. Made of soft metal so often showed signs of wear after prolonged use. Good fakers will of course be aware of this, but encourages me when I see it. ***** this is not posted as a Panzer dog tag! The clue being in the RAD! Posted only as an example of the wear described above.!********* Edited September 4, 2023 by Ross Obvious not panzer dog tag. Didnt expect the pointing out of the obvious.
Fritz
This is not a Panzer dogtag, but Reichsarbeitsdienst
Ross
Completely aware of that! Example of the wear on the holes whatever the origin obviously.
