Greg
I finally have some time to get around to posting my DDR NVA Wehrdienstausweis books. First up, Wolfgang Klopsch 731029480 born: 30 May 1941 in Schlabitz, Guhrau He has 2 children and lived in Groditz, Reisa Entered the NVA as a Soldat on 14.11.74 and promoted to Gefreiter (Corporal) on 30.04.75 Trained on the MPI-K (DDR licenses AK-47) He was late to camp at call 8am on 20.11.74 - naughty him! and that is about it, apart from a very long list of socks, underwear, shirts, gloves, helmet, etc issues to him... what I find so fascinating about the cold war documents is while everyone was at heightened readiness they must have been incredibly bored. And while that is a good thing cause we didn't nuke the world... it shows more the common life of a garrison soldier.
