WW1 Brodie with unknown markings

Hello I have a question, I have what I think is a 1917 era WW1 British helmet. It has the rolled edge, pad,

donut, typical chinstrap housings, but the maker is not one I know. Looks like a small "BS" and right under

is a larger D/O 21 with what looks like a seated lion. Could this be a post war re-issue stamp from another country?

If anyone can help I would appreciate it, thanks!

No all the marks are British WW1 stamp marks.

An alternative answer to the first is this.

The seated lion mark is the trademark of Bury's and Co of Regent Works Sheffield.

The BS could be for W. Beardmore & Co Ltd of Glasgow who supplied steel mainly for Ships, but in WW1 bought out the

Sheffield Steel Co Dunford & Elliot of Attercliffe Wharf Works which was close to both the Bury's and Osborne's works.

So D = Manufacturer could be Dunford & Elliot of Sheffield

And O = Steel Supplier Samuel Osborne of Sheffield.

And Steel Batch Lot Number Used 21.

So again Osborne's supplied Bur'y with the steel who rolled it into sheets, who then sent it on to Dunfords near by to press

the bowl shapes, painted them and fitted the liners

Hope these two answers help you.

Thank you very much, I am new to collecting these helmets, with most of mine being U.S. made versions.
