Kenny Andrew
Very scarce early 8 x 60 H Kriegsmarine U boat binoculars, H stands for Helligheit (increased brightness)They feature a socket to the right hand side in which a light can be fitted which will turn the graticule red for night vision to fire the torpedoes at night. We have tested this with a torch and it still works. Maker marked Carl Zeiss of Jenna with letter T for coated optics. Binoculars feature Eagle and Swastika with letter M below for Marine and N 319. Serial number to front of binos 1813376 dates them as a batch of 100 made in December 1937. When looking through the binoculars backwards there is a small crack to the inner lens and the other lens appears cloudy, however when viewing them correctly this damage can not be seen and the vision is perfect including the central graticule. Left lens cap is missing with a dunt to the eye piece threading.Binoculars still retain 100% of their rough textured black finish with some wear to the painted black metal parts otherwise good condition. These are for sale on our website and the classifieds forum
