DAK palm tree and swastika emblum

Just read that the famous DAK emblum was not always white.

 

Captured documents showed that the Palm and Swastika sign painted on vehicles in different colours to identify divisions as follows:-

Corps Troops – Green

15 Panzer Div – Red

5 Light Div – White

 

This was discontinued on 15 November 1941 as white was much more visable. :00009176:

Did anyone see the British armoured troops in Afganistan a couple of months ago on the news? The reporter was interviewing a trooper and behind him clear as day on the armoured car was the Palm tree emblem , where the swastika would have been the British unit badge was added ,not sure what the unit was , maybe Price Harrys :D but it was clear as day based on the DAK emblem :lol:

Didn't Brit units do that in the first Gulf War? I remember the Staffords replaced the Swastika with the Stafford Knot on the palm tree.
