leon21
Here's a pair of Fernglas 08 binoculars made by C.P.Goerz of Berlin, the 08 model was the official binocular issued to the Prussian Army. This pair dates from around 1918.
Fritz
Excellent piece, the case looks like waxcloth, used due to shortage of leather
Fritz
I had a couple of good WW2 Dienstglas binoculars many years ago, both complete with orginal straps, one black, the other brown with the leather flap covering for the lenses. Unfortunately later parted with these. In those days they only cost around 80-120 DM. Now become very expensive. They also had the grid-markings in metres inside the lenses, showing on the optical image view for rangefinding. As far as I remember they were the standard small type 6x30, as used by infantry and artillery for short distances.
