Fritz
The old German Alphabet and Script were officially abolished by decree of the NSDAP by Martin Bormann in 1941, however, it did not die out immediately, and was still in use till the 1950s, even more by the older generation, which could not adapt so quickly. It was still taught in schools until postwar years but only as a secondary alphabet, the Roman script being given precedence. For all those interesting in deciphering old documents etc., here is an overview, which I photographed from a Teach Yourself German book from the late 1960s. The book was published by the English University Press, London EC4 ( No. SBN 340 05788 2 ) Althought long out of print, copies could probably be found in internet book trade.
