These of course belong to the German Government so cannot be used without license and permission, and you may have have seen them already but some great stuff

http://www.bild.bundesarchiv.de/cross-search/search/_1404725525/

search 'hitlerjugend'... should come up with 17 pages of photos!

I am now looking for photos or items relating to the sport of fencing within the Hitler Youth and BDM. I am about to purchase a rare fencing certificate and postcard from the USA but am having trouble finding any other photos.

Any help as usual is much appreciated. :)

Here's 3 photo's of Helene Mayer 1910 - 1963 said to be the Greatest Swordswoman Germany ever produced.

Her Record

( 1924 ) aged 14, Mayer is German - Jungenmeistrin and German Vice-Champion at adults in foil.

( 1925 - 1930 ) Mayer is German Champion in foil fencing 5 times in a row.

( 1928 ) aged 18 wins the gold medal in foil fencing at the Olympic Games in Amsterdam.

( 1929 ) is European Champion in foil fencing in Naples.

( 1931 ) is European Champion in foil fencing in Vienna.

( 1932 ) came 5th at Olympic Games in Los Angeles, her poor performance was said to be the result of losing her boyfriend

a soldier in the German Army who was killed.

( 1936 ) Mayer wins a silver medal at the Olympic Games in Berlin.

After the award ceremony it's said that Heydrich Reinhard said to her she would lose her medal because she was half Jewish,

she later went to Los Angeles were she remained until 1953 when she returned to Germany.post-3823-0-45810000-1408566033_thumb.jpgpost-3823-0-85890100-1408566060_thumb.jpgpost-3823-0-83777300-1408566095_thumb.jpg

Neither had I Greg. I might do a bit of research into them as I know many of the fakes such as the 1936 Olympics Hitler Youth ones where made in the early 1970/80's.

On the point of knives: avoid these Hitler Youth ones.

The 1936 Olympic Knives are not documented at all and are considered post war made. Shame also, as they look stunning!

Very little is written about this wing of the Hitler Youth and photo's are hard to find, I did come across an image of a troop

of South West African Hitler Youth carrying the normal H.J.banner and wearing H.J.armbands but the image was protected.

here are a few more.

Here is an interesting HJ Gebietsdreieck - it simply states Ausland, (abroad). These are now very expensive.
This simple badge is now prohibited in "Germany", which shows how paranoid things have become here!
The posession of these articles is not illegal, but they may not be publicly displayed or used for propaganda purposes,
Many dealers offer their articles as below, Swastikas and Runes must be completely covered, as also images of Hitler's face,
and wording on mottos such as "Meine Ehre heißt Treue" or "Blut und Ehre", such mottos are prohibited.
